  Visited Dr. Hort due to pain in the ball of my foot. He provided cortisone injections and asked that I come back for a follow-up. The first follow-up was cancelled the day of the appointment. The next appointment, I received a call the day of stating they needed me to come earlier due to his schedule. The cortisone injections provided no relief, so I obliged the last minute scheduling changes hopeful he would provide alternatives during the follow-up appointment. The follow-up appointment was literally 7 minutes. When I told him the injections did not work, he said could perform surgery or I can see Dr. Pierce. I explained that I waited weeks to see him to determine if he could recommend alternatives such as special shoes or orthotics. He simply responded that he performs surgery and orthitics are not in his wheelhouse. If he would have explained this in my first visit, I would have been fine and immediately scheduled the next appointment with Dr. Pierce. But, to be inconvenienced multiple times (I realize he's a physician but my time is important too) and charged for this 7 minute "welp, I can't help you, go see my colleague" visit feels a bit like a scam. I selected this practice because it's close to my home, but the criteria for my next physican will be one who is actually interested in helping his/her patients.
